In a critical response operation, a crew member aboard the vessel 'Skandi Olympia' has been transported to a local hospital following a medical emergency. The Aberdeen Coastguard was alerted on August 25, 2016, at approximately 9:30 PM, reporting a crew member experiencing severe illness. An on-call medic from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary was promptly contacted to assess the situation, engaging in communication with both the affected crew member and the on-ship medical team. The ship was located around 10 hours away from Aberdeen Harbour at the time of the call. After careful evaluation, the medic concluded that, provided the crewman's condition remained stable, it was safe for the vessel to proceed to harbour for formal medical treatment. The 'Skandi Olympia' reached the northeast harbor around 7:15 AM the following morning, where an ambulance was awaiting the patient. The Scottish Ambulance Service then transferred the individual to the Accident and Emergency department of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for further care.
