Key issues included a lack of an essential voyage or passage plan, inoperative emergency fire pump systems, and significant structural concerns such as hull cracking and inadequate beam and deck conditions. Additional safety violations involved poorly maintained covers for hatchways and lifeboats, insufficient ventilation in working spaces, and compromised fire prevention structural integrity. After addressing these serious matters, the 'Sky Light' was released on July 19, allowing it to embark on a single voyage to Tartus for necessary permanent repairs. Alexander Matvienko, the ex-captain of the Russian vessel 'Ivan Bobrov,' recently faced arrest in Denmark due to elevated blood alcohol levels. Following the resolution of the matter through representation by the ship’s owner, Matvienko was deported to Russia. He returned to his homeland on February 4, 2016, and is presently in Moscow. As of now, the company has yet to determine whether Matvienko will face any disciplinary actions, with a decision pending a meeting between him and the company's general director. Additionally, the vessel's mate and chief engineer, who encountered similar legal troubles, were already deported to Russia on January 21. Meanwhile, new crew members reached the ship on January 7, and the 'Ivan Bobrov' departed Denmark on January 9, successfully resuming its journey to Riga, where it arrived on January 28.

Additionally, the Danish court has imposed a six-year ban on Matvienko's entry into Denmark. The vessel 'Ivan Bobrov' has been released by Danish authorities following the appointment of a new captain, first mate, and engineer in Arkhangelsk. The ship, which had been detained for nine days in the port of Elsinore, was cleared to proceed to Riga on January 9. The captain, arrested for sailing under the influence on New Year's Day, remains in custody. Alongside the captain, the first mate and engineer have also faced charges related to navigating while intoxicated. The captain's release from custody is not scheduled until January 15. 'Ivan Bobrov' was traveling from Ipswich to Riga when the Defence Sea Rescue Service took notice due to the vessel's erratic sailing behavior.
