Trawler Crew Rescues Migrants in Distress from English Channel
On November 3, 2021, the crew aboard the trawler 'Johanna-SL 9' made a remarkable humanitarian effort when they encountered a dinghy carrying approximately 30 migrants in the English Channel, close to the French coastal town of Boulogne-sur-Mer. One of the distressed migrants attempted to board the trawler by climbing onto the fishing lines but fell into the water. Quick to react, the crew successfully pulled him from the waves and brought him aboard their vessel. Following the rescue, the fishermen promptly handed over the migrants to the French Coast Guard, ensuring their safety.
