The Solidaire: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On June 14, 2025, the NGO vessel 'Solidaire' made its way into the busy port of Ravenna, bringing with it 76 migrants who had been brought to safety in the treacherous Mediterranean waters. Just two days later, on June 16, the 'Ocean Viking,' a ship operated by the humanitarian group Sos Mediterranée, docked at Marina di Carrara with 70 individuals onboard, all having been rescued from perilous circumstances at sea. Meanwhile, the 'Sea Watch 5,' another vital rescue ship, successfully saved 53 more migrants, and was subsequently directed by Italian authorities to the port of Pozzallo. Together, these three ships highlight the ongoing humanitarian efforts in the Mediterranean, where countless lives are being saved amid challenging conditions.

On November 5, 2024, the humanitarian vessel 'Solidaire' made its way to the port of Naples, bringing with it 81 migrants hailing from diverse national backgrounds. The reception process was meticulously organized by the Prefecture, following a comprehensive plan established in a preparatory meeting held at the Government Palace the previous day. Key players in this operation included the Juvenile Court Prosecutor's Office in Naples, the Municipality's Welfare Department, ASL Napoli 1 Centro, the Port Authority, the Maritime Health Office, the Regional Civil Protection, law enforcement agencies, the Fire Department, the Italian Red Cross, and the Diocesan Caritas. After their arrival, the migrants underwent initial identification followed by preliminary health checks. They were then relocated to the Residence of the Ospedale del Mare, a facility managed by ASL Napoli 1 Centro, where further police procedures and health evaluations were conducted. Ultimately, arrangements are in place for them to be transferred to the Extraordinary Reception Centers throughout the region.
