Atlantic Offshore Rescue Signs Long-Term Deal for New 'Ocean Osprey' Vessel
Atlantic Offshore Rescue has finalized an impressive five-year charter agreement with Shell UK, encompassing five optional one-year extensions. This partnership aims to bolster operations in the central North Sea across the Gannet, Annasuria, and Dana Petroleum Triton Asset sites. The newly commissioned 'Ocean Osprey' will serve as a vital Class A tanker assist, rescue, and standby vessel, dedicated to providing essential emergency recovery, rescue cover, tanker assistance, and overall field support for offshore activities. Featuring a cutting-edge H820 design crafted in collaboration with Atlantic Offshore, the 66.9-meter vessel represents the latest innovation from Havyard Ship Design. Constructed over a span of fifteen months at Zamakona shipyards in Passai, Spain, 'Ocean Osprey' is set to take the place of its predecessor, the 'Ocean Searcher.' This acquisition not only marks an upgrade in Atlantic Offshore's fleet but also aligns with their ambitious £300 million fleet modernization initiative, which includes two additional sister vessels currently under construction. The introduction of 'Ocean Osprey' has also created 30 new jobs and is among 12 Emergency Response and Rescue Vessels (ERRV) managed from the company’s Aberdeen headquarters.
