Medical Emergency Resolved: Crew Member Evacuated from Sparfell near Cap d'Antifer
On the evening of August 4, 2021, a critical medical situation unfolded aboard the 'Sparfell' approximately 75 kilometers from Cap d'Antifer. The CROSS Gris-Nez received an urgent alert from the Toulouse maritime medical consultation center regarding an injured crew member who required immediate evacuation. Responding swiftly, a Cayman helicopter from the Navy was dispatched and successfully airlifted the stricken crew member at 10:20 PM. Following the rescue, he was transported to Caen airport and subsequently admitted to the University Hospital Center for further medical attention.
