Navig8 Product Tankers Inc., a prominent player in the global shipping industry specializing in the transportation of petroleum products, has recently taken delivery of the NAVIG8 GAUNTLET, a new LR2 tanker with a deadweight tonnage of 113,000 DWT. This latest addition hails from the renowned Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (GSI), formerly known as CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Group) Company Limited. The NAVIG8 GAUNTLET marks the sixth of eight vessels that Navig8 has contracted with GSI. This delivery also represents the sixth vessel received under leasing agreements formed with CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping Company Limited, which were initially announced on June 25, 2015. Upon delivery from GSI, the NAVIG8 GAUNTLET transitioned to CSSC as per the Sale Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and was subsequently returned to Navig8 for operation under a bareboat charter. Moving forward, the NAVIG8 GAUNTLET will join the Navig8 Group’s Alpha8 commercial pool, contributing to the company’s growing fleet in the maritime logistics sector.
