Working Conditions Aboard the Subaru

In a startling maritime incident, the Korean fishing vessel 'Subaru' collided with a 28-ton fishing boat southeast of Pohang on December 31, 2019, at approximately 6:15 a.m. The unfortunate collision resulted in the sinking of the fishing vessel. The crew aboard the reefer promptly initiated a search and rescue (SAR) operation, ensuring the safety of all 12 crew members from the fishing vessel, who were successfully rescued. The reefer, which was traveling from Busan to Pohang, continued to the inner anchorage several hours after the incident, underscoring the urgency and importance of maritime safety protocols in adverse conditions.
