Minor Blaze Erupts on Tanker During Construction in Foxhol
On March 14, 2016, at 8:20 a.m., a small fire ignited on the tanker 'Sundowner', which was undergoing construction at the Ferus Smit Yard located in Foxhol, Westerbroek. The situation prompted a significant alarm as there were concerns about potential workers being onboard the vessel. Emergency responders swiftly arrived with two fire engines to tackle the situation. Fortunately, it was quickly determined that the ship was unoccupied. The fire brigade successfully extinguished the flames at the base of the ship.
