Bosphorus Collision: 'Tahsin Imamoglu' and 'Rusich 10' Incident
On the morning of September 25, 2021, the Bosphorus strait witnessed a maritime mishap as the Turkish vessel 'Tahsin Imamoglu' collided with the Russian cargo ship 'Rusich 10' near Beykoz. Both vessels were navigating northwards; the 'Rusich 10' was making its way from Rodaport to Taganrog, while the 'Tahsin Imamoglu' was en route from Diliskelesi to Eregli. Following the incident, the two ships were successfully anchored at Büyükdere, with assistance from the tugs 'Kurtarma 11', 'Kurtarma 14', and the support vessels 'Kiyem 5' and 'KEGM 3'. Damage was reported on both ships: the 'Tahsin Imamoglu' sustained injuries to its port side foreship, whereas the 'Rusich 10' suffered damage on the starboard side.
