In a significant maritime operation, the dismantling of the shipwreck 'Tamarii Tuamotu', a 856 dwt vessel (IMO: 6706216) built in 1967 and previously owned by the now-defunct Vonken Company, has officially commenced. The ship, which has been stranded on the shores of Takaroa since 1998, saw all the necessary equipment loaded onto the 'Taporo 9' in Papeete on November 28, 2023.
