On April 18, 2023, a critical medevac operation was carried out for a 37-year-old crew member aboard the 'Buxfavourite', which was making its way from Tilbury to New York City. The incident occurred approximately 45 nautical miles off the coast of Ouessant at around 11 a.m. A distress call from the vessel, which had 22 individuals on board, prompted the CROSS Corsen to take action. By 10:55 a.m., a Cayman helicopter from the French Navy, staffed with a medical team from Cavale-Blanche hospital, arrived at the scene. Despite challenging conditions with a force 5 easterly wind, the hoisting operation commenced at 12:42 p.m. The Filipino sailor was successfully retrieved and subsequently delivered to Cavale Blanche hospital in Brest for medical attention by 1:47 p.m.
