Terschelling Vessel Reviews and Specifications

On August 31, 2010, the coast of the North Sea became the scene of a daring rescue operation involving the vessel 'Terschelling' (IMO 8802662). Responding to an emergency call from the production platform 'Q4C', the Den Helder rescue center promptly dispatched the 'Terschelling' to assist a Dutch yacht engulfed in flames. Initial efforts saw the vessel team up with a KNRM vessel from Egmond upon Sea, which successfully towed the stricken yacht towards Den Helder, with additional support from another KNRM boat from Callantsoog. The 'Terschelling' arrived at the burning yacht around 1 p.m., five minutes before a helicopter swooped in to rescue the yacht's skipper. The pilot expertly lifted him from a life raft and promptly transported him to the De Kooy base in Den Helder, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Firefighting efforts were diligently carried out by the 'BB Worker', which managed to extinguish the flames by 4:40 p.m. and subsequently commenced salvage operations on the damaged vessel.
