On December 4, 2015, a joint operation by the Mexican Navy and law enforcement resulted in a significant drug seizure aboard the cargo vessel 'Tirua.' While docked in Manzanillo, authorities uncovered a suitcase containing a staggering 58.8 kilograms of cocaine. Inside the suitcase, investigators also found various electronic devices and a SIM card, raising suspicions about its origin and intent. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suitcase may have been loaded onto the ship during its previous stop in Buenaventura. Following the seizure, the 'Tirua' departed Mexico on the same day, heading towards its destination in Yokohama.
