On July 5, 2018, at approximately 11 a.m., the container ship "Trường Hải Star 3" performed a daring rescue, saving nine crew members from the Vietnamese-flagged cargo vessel "An Phú 868" (2041 gt, IMO-No.: 9373060). The cargo ship had found itself stranded while navigating from An Giang to Hải Phòng. Just an hour earlier, at 10 a.m., the "An Phú 868" ran aground about 10 nautical miles off the coast of La Gi. As a result of the emergency, the crew quickly evacuated into a life raft. Additionally, the nearby vessel, "Haian Bell," altered its course to assist in the rescue efforts. Following the successful retrieval, the crew were brought safely to the port of Hu Lai. By July 10, crews were able to siphon off the 10.5 tons of bunker fuel from the grounded vessel, which belonged to Hong Ha Bay Shipping Co., Ltd. in Thai Thinh.
