Working Conditions Aboard the Tukuma-Arctica

In a concerning development, several members of the crew aboard the newly constructed container ship 'Tukuma Arctica' tested positive for the coronavirus. The vessel, which has been stationed at the port of Aalborg since its arrival from Lonxue Shipyard on March 3, 2020, did not pose a transmission risk to Greenland as it was docked during this period. Royal Arctic Line has acted swiftly, mapping out the crew's movements and coordinating with the National Medical Board and Danish health authorities to manage the situation effectively. All necessary health protocols are being enforced to ensure the safety of the crew and maintain the supply chain to Greenland. Importantly, a significant number of local craftsmen were also present on board while the ship was in Aalborg. Currently, there are plans for the 'Tukuma Arctica', which boasts a capacity of 2,150 TEU and stands as the largest and most advanced in the Royal Arctic Line fleet, to set sail for Nuuk on April 17, 2023.
