On October 29, 2013, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the lifeboats from Den Helder and Callantsoog were put on high alert due to a fire incident in the engine room of the fishing vessel 'Branding - TX 38', which was navigating through the Schulpengat waterway. As a result of the fire, the vessel experienced a complete loss of propulsion. In a prompt response, the Belgian frigate 'Leopold 1', the patrol vessel 'P 49', and the tugboat 'Hunzepark' were deployed to assist. By the time the rescue vessel 'Joke Dijkstra' arrived at the scene, the fire was under control and power had been restored on the 'Branding - TX 38'. Consequently, the lifeboat returned to Den Helder, and the 'Joke Dijkstra' along with the 'P 49' provided escort as the fishing vessel made its way to the fish market in Den Helder. Remarkably, the 'Branding - TX 38' was able to get back to sea later that same afternoon.
