This deal focuses on operations in the strategic trading routes between Gibraltar and West Africa. The tumultuous waves caused several containers to become loosened, resulting in one container tearing open and leaking hazardous materials. Fortunately, the diligent crew acted quickly to secure the spillage of approximately 120 liters of dangerous fluids. Upon the vessel's arrival in Hamburg, local fire rescue teams were already on standby, but they found the situation was effectively brought under control by the crew. The compromised container was subsequently removed using specialized containment procedures to ensure safety and compliance.

Costamare has committed a substantial $30 million investment towards the purchase of the 4,100-TEU container ship, MSC Ulsan. This vessel will be integrated into operations under a 63-month charter agreement valued at $16,500 per day, according to the latest report from London's Tradewinds journal.
