On January 7, 2015, Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. proudly announced the completion of its 200th Kamsarmax bulk carrier, the Ultra Lion, weighing in at 82,000-mt D/W. This remarkable achievement took place at the Tsuneishi Group Shipbuilding facility located in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, China. The Ultra Lion is set to be delivered to its new owner, Kambara Kisen Co., Ltd. Since the inception of the Kamsarmax model in February 2005, Tsuneishi has established itself as a leader in the construction of these vessels. Over a span of nearly a decade, the shipyard has successfully produced 200 Kamsarmax bulk carriers, which now represent a significant share of the global market, comprising over 28% of all bulk carriers in the 80,000- to 84,000-mt class constructed since the year 2000.
