The major issues included: 1) Inoperative steering gear alarm 2) Inoperative fire doors/openings within fire-resistant divisions 3) Non-functional remote controls for machinery spaces 4) Non-compliance with pollution prevention discharge controls 5) Inadequate record maintenance for drills and steering gear tests 6) Poorly maintained ventilators, air pipes, and casings 7) Suspicions of discharge violations 8) Auxiliary machinery not meeting required standards 9) Missing ISM certificate Following the inspection, the 'Uranus' was released on January 16 and set sail on January 17, navigating toward Novorossiysk, with an estimated time of arrival on January 19. This incident marks the fourth detention for the vessel in a span of 1.5 years, with previous detentions occurring as follows: March 23, 2024, in Novorossiysk for seven deficiencies over three days; December 26, 2023, in El Dekheila with ten deficiencies lasting two days; August 4, 2023, again in Novorossiysk with 15 deficiencies resulting in a four-day hold; and on June 7, 2023, back in Kocaeli with 13 deficiencies for one day.
