On August 12, 2015, a U.S. Army H-60 helicopter encountered a hard landing while attempting to land on the vehicle carrier 'Red Cloud' near Cape Schwab, approximately 20 miles east of Okinawa. The incident occurred at 1:46 p.m. during a training exercise, resulting in injuries to six individuals. Among the injured were two members of Japan's Central Readiness Force, who suffered a broken bone and a cut, respectively. The injured were promptly transported to a nearby Navy hospital for medical attention. Fortunately, the remaining ten personnel on board the helicopter were unhurt.
