Valence Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

In a significant boost to the container shipping industry, South Korea's Sungdong shipyard has successfully delivered the VALENCE, a state-of-the-art container ship with a TEU capacity of 8,827. The VALENCE, measuring 300.01 meters in length and 48.20 meters in width (with a 19-row configuration), is the fourth vessel in a series of five compact ships that were commissioned by Costamare in May 2011. The Greek company, known for its non-operating ship ownership model, backed the construction of this quintet with long-term charters secured with Evergreen Marine. The VALENCE exemplifies an emerging trend towards compact wide beam vessels capable of carrying around 9,000 TEU, aligning with the evolving fleets of major shipping lines such as MSC, Evergreen, CMA CGM, CCNI, and CSAV.
