Since June 13, 2023, two Syrian illegal immigrants, believed to be terrorists, have been hiding on board the ship which was en route from Izmir to Swinoujscie. The crew of the 'Vestvind' raised the alarm upon discovering the injured men concealed amidst the cargo, with one in serious condition. An examination of their mobile phones by local authorities revealed alarming images showing the men brandishing Kalashnikov rifles, heightening suspicions of their connections to terrorist activities. Syrian officials confirmed on June 21 that these individuals were indeed wanted for terrorism-related offenses back home.
