On November 30, 2018, a small leak occurred involving the crude oil tanker 'Andromeda', registered under IMO number 162198 gt, during a ship-to-ship oil transfer operation with the 'Vigdis Knutsen' in Brazil's Santos basin. The incident resulted in the release of approximately 200 millilitres of crude oil, which was part of a shipment from Royal Dutch Shell Plc. The transfer was promptly halted upon discovery of the leak, which was attributed to a gap in the equipment fitting that caused oil to drip for four minutes. The leak was identified during the connection of hoses between the two vessels in the STS area.
