Incident in Nansha: Three Containers Lost Overboard from 'Vladivostok'

On the evening of September 21, 2024, at approximately 9:45 PM local time, an allision involving the 'Vladivostok' occurred at the Phase III container terminal in Nansha. The incident was triggered when the vessel was struck by the 'De Xin Shang Hai' (IMO: 1061843), which was making its inaugural journey from Hong Kong to Nansha. In response to the situation, the Guangzhou Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) mobilized two patrol boats along with two tugs to address the incident. Within a span of two hours, the swift actions of the crew helped secure two of the dislodged containers back onto the 'Vladivostok', while another tug was brought in to stabilize the third container and prevent it from drifting away. A salvage vessel arrived at around 2:45 AM on September 22, and by 8:30 AM, all three containers had been successfully recovered.
