On May 8, 2025, the vessel 'Volodymyr Vorobyov' faced detention in Tekirdag after inspectors identified a staggering 47 deficiencies on board, with seven classified as serious enough to warrant the detention. Key issues included critical fire safety failures, such as the absence of a fixed fire extinguishing installation and a poorly maintained fire detection and alarm system. Additionally, the remote control for machinery spaces was found inoperative, compromising safety protocols. Life-saving appliances were also affected, with inadequacies in the launching arrangements for survival crafts and expired batteries in emergency communication equipment. Poor structural conditions were highlighted by the non-functional steering gear, while the general alarm system was also reported inoperative. After addressing these significant concerns, the 'Volodymyr Vorobyov' was released from detention on May 21 and subsequently made its way to Altinova. It arrived on May 22 to undergo permanent repairs, ensuring compliance with safety standards for its future voyages.
