Wan Hai Lines Ltd, one of Taiwan's premier container shipping companies, has announced that its latest vessel, the Wan Hai 271, is set to commence operations on Friday, just one week away. This milestone marks an exciting expansion in the company's fleet of self-operated vessels. Last year, Wan Hai ordered a total of 14 new ships from CSBC Corp, Taiwan (CSBC), which includes four vessels with a capacity of 1,805 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), another four vessels with a capacity of 1,000 TEUs, and six larger ships boasting a capacity of 4,500 TEUs. The Wan Hai 271, with its impressive capacity of 1,805 TEUs, is the first of these new builds to be delivered, while the remaining 13 vessels are anticipated to join the fleet over the next two years. In a statement, Wan Hai emphasized that this new addition not only revitalizes its maritime fleet but also positions the company for future growth in its long-haul shipping services.
