The cargo vessel St. Filip, registered under the Comoros flag, experienced a water leak early Sunday morning and was successfully towed to the Black Sea port of Eregli. Subgovernor Ibrahim Cay provided insights into the incident, stating that the leak originated from the ship’s engine room after it had completed unloading scrap metal at Erdemir Iron and Steel Enterprises. Responding to a distress call from the captain, authorities dispatched two rescue vessels to the scene. Cay confirmed to an AA correspondent, 'A tugboat was deployed to bring the cargo ship safely to Eregli port.' Fortunately, all crew members aboard the St. Filip are reported to be in stable condition. Following necessary repairs, the ship is expected to continue its journey to Bulgaria. At the time of the incident, the vessel was approximately six miles offshore from Eregli town.
