Crane Incident at Offshore Wind Park Leads to Repairs in Drachten
On January 23, 2019, at 9:45 AM, the offshore vessel 'Vos Stone' made its way into the port of Harlingen after experiencing crane damage during operations at an offshore wind park. To facilitate the removal of the damaged crane, the assistance of two mobile cranes from KTF was employed. Following the successful extraction, the crane is set to be transported by ship to SMST in Drachten for necessary repairs. Vroon Unveils VOS Stone: A New Dawn in Subsea Support Vessels
On December 8, 2023, Vroon proudly celebrated the naming of its latest fleet member, the VOS Stone, during a special ceremony held in Rotterdam. The vessel was officially named by Mrs. Ingrid van Driel, the Vroon Group Controller, marking a milestone for the maritime provider. The VOS Stone is an advanced subsea-support walk-to-work vessel, joining her sister ship, VOS Start, which is currently active at the Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farm located in the Irish Sea. Both vessels have been meticulously designed to facilitate offshore operations in the renewable energy sector, as well as walk-to-work projects in the oil and gas industry. VOS Stone was built by Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding in China and was delivered to Vroon in July 2017. Following essential final outfitting in the Netherlands, the vessel is now fully equipped and ready to begin operations in the North Sea.
Vroon's VOS Stone Secures Contract with VBMS for Arkona Offshore Windfarm Support
Vroon Offshore Services has successfully secured a charter for its cutting-edge subsea-support vessel, the VOS Stone, which will bolster inter-array cabling operations at the Arkona Offshore Windfarm starting spring 2018. This advanced walk-to-work unit, designed specifically for offshore logistics, will also participate in additional operations throughout the summer of 2018, aiding E.ON’s commissioning efforts at the windfarm, as highlighted in the company’s recent press release. The VOS Stone was delivered in July 2017 by Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding in China and is currently finishing its outfitting in The Netherlands, preparing for deployment in the North Sea from November 2017. This state-of-the-art vessel boasts a 50-ton active-heave-compensated crane and a motion-compensated gangway that facilitates the safe transfer of personnel offshore. Furthermore, it meets the SPS notation requirements and accommodates up to 60 passengers in its comfortable office and recreational spaces, exemplifying its commitment to providing safe, efficient, and versatile support to both the Renewable Energy and Oil & Gas sectors.
