Windea Leibniz: New Wind Farm Service Vessel Joins Fleet of Bernhard Schulte Offshore and ICBC Leasing
On February 28, 2023, the innovative wind farm service vessel, Windea Leibniz, was officially delivered from Ulstein Verft to Bernhard Schulte Offshore and ICBC Leasing. The naming ceremony took place in Ulsteinvik, Norway, where the vessel was christened by its lady sponsor, Dai Ling. This marks the second vessel in the collaborative fleet of the Hamburg-based Bernhard Schulte Offshore and Beijing's ICBC Leasing. Named after the renowned 17th-century German polymath, Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz, who advocated for the use of wind energy to drive pumps, the Windea Leibniz reflects a commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS, this state-of-the-art vessel is set to commence operations at the Sandbank wind farm in the German Bight. Starting in April, it will play a vital role in supporting Siemens Wind Power Service in harnessing renewable energy from 72 wind turbines at the site.
