On September 24, 2020, the KNRM station Den Oever, along with the mussel cutter 'Johan Prins WR 10', promptly responded to an incident involving a capsized catamaran in the Wadden Sea, approximately 500 meters from the iconic Monument on the Afsluitdijk. The Coast Guard confirmed that there were three individuals aboard the vessel, with two already in the water and one having suffered a head injury. To ensure their well-being, an ambulance was dispatched as a precaution. Upon arrival, the lifeboat 'Johanna Margareta' from Den Oever found two of the crew members clinging to a floating section of the capsized catamaran, while the third was still inside the submerged craft. The KNRM team successfully retrieved all three men and transported them back to Den Oever, where they exhibited symptoms of hypothermia. The shore crew on standby was prepared to assist, allowing the crew to warm up inside the boathouse after their rescue.
