Incident Involving Xin Shanghai at Fairview Container Terminal
On April 30, 2018, the container vessel 'Xin Shanghai' experienced a significant incident while mooring at the Fairview Container Terminal in Prince Rupert. The vessel inadvertently struck a crane during the docking procedure. Initial assessments indicated possible damage to critical systems, particularly communications and navigational instruments located on the upper bridge. Consequently, the ship's departure was postponed as investigations were underway. As of May 2, the Xin Shanghai remained docked at the terminal.
