Emergency Medical Evacuation of Burmese Seafarer Near Davao City
In a swift response to a medical emergency, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) successfully evacuated a Burmese seaman who experienced severe health issues while aboard the vessel 'K. Daphne' off the coast of Davao City. Than Htike Aung reported struggling with respiratory problems and persistent chest pain that lasted for over four days, prompting the urgent intervention. On October 25, 2018, the Coast Guard Response Vessel 4408, known as BRP Cape San Agustin, conducted the medevac operation near Talicud Island. After the rescue, the ailing seaman was transported to the Metro Davao Medical and Research Center Hospital for immediate medical care.
