Working Conditions Aboard the Yeoman-Bontrup

On April 3, 2012, the YEOMAN BONTRUP made its exit from Remontowa Shipyard after an extensive 16-month refurbishment. This comprehensive rebuild included the removal of the old wheelhouse, which was replaced with a state-of-the-art structure, as well as the installation of a brand new cargo discharging system. With these upgrades, the vessel is now en route to Glesanda, ready to embrace its enhanced capabilities in maritime operations.

A devastating fire erupted aboard the bulk carrier Yeoman Bontrup, IMO 8912297, during maintenance work at Glensanda Quarry, Loch Linnhe on July 2, 2022. Investigations indicate that the blaze was most likely ignited by hot debris resulting from ongoing repair activities. The inferno rapidly engulfed the Bahamian-registered vessel, leading to an explosion that caused extensive damage.
