Evergreen, based in Taiwan, is set to enhance its operations by taking slots from China United Lines (CUL) to establish a new direct service connecting Singapore with Haiphong and Ho Chi Minh City. Notably, CUL is currently utilizing slots on the Singapore-Vietnam route as part of the weekly Straits-Vietnam-Malaysia (SE2/SVS) service managed by Yang Ming and OEL, as reported by Alphaliner. This service itinerary includes calls at Singapore, Port Kelang, Haiphong, and Ho Chi Minh City, however, neither Evergreen nor CUL participate in the Port Kelang segment. The service will operate using two vessels: the 1,803-TEU YM Inventive and the 1,500-TEU YM Heights, both under the management of Yang Ming. This looping service operates on a bi-weekly basis. Evergreen’s new venture, branded as 'South East Asia II' (SEA 2), is set to commence with the YM Inventive's departure from Haiphong on October 16, marking a significant expansion in the region's shipping connectivity.
