On the evening of April 4, 2020, the U.S. Coast Guard successfully conducted a medevac operation for an injured crew member aboard the container ship 'Yang Ming Unanimity,' which was situated approximately six miles off the coast of San Francisco. The 32-year-old Taiwanese sailor suffered a significant head injury after falling and hitting his forehead on the ship's radar mast while en route to Kobe, Japan. Responding swiftly, a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the helicopter team lowered a rescue swimmer onto the vessel to evaluate the injured man. Subsequently, they deployed a rescue basket to lift him safely into the helicopter. The crewmember was then flown to Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, where he was reported to be in stable condition following the incident.
