On May 22, 2024, tragedy struck at Paradip Port when a crew member of the 'Yuka D', a ship registered under the Philippine flag, lost his life following a fall from the ship's crane. The victim, identified as 26-year-old Azarcon Earl Wilhelm Curao, was reportedly cleaning the crane at the time of the incident. The Marine Police Station in the Nehru Bangla province has commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
