Seacontractors proudly announced the official naming of their latest Walk-to-Work support vessel, the ‘Zwerver II’, during a ceremony held at her home port in Harlingen, Netherlands. This innovative Multi-Purpose support vessel boasts an impressive array of features, including DP II capabilities, four-point mooring systems, and two cranes – a 510-tonne active heave compensated crane and a 370-tonne conventional crane. Additionally, it features a passive heave compensated gangway designed for efficient crew transfers to wind turbines or offshore platforms. With a remarkable bollard pull of 65 tonnes, the Zwerver II distinguishes itself within its class, especially considering its shallow draft of only 2.7 meters. Constructed under the rigorous standards of Bureau Veritas and sailing under the Dutch flag, the vessel is tailored for diverse applications within the offshore and renewable energy sectors. Its roles span from dredging support and anchor handling to cable laying, buried cable operations, diving operations, and ROV support, making it a vital asset in various maritime activities. Accommodating crew welfare, the Zwerver II features MLC-certified accommodations for up to 17 personnel, with the option to extend capacity to 21 through two custom-built and fully classified TLQs.
