On June 1, 2024, the Houthi group announced a series of assaults targeting both military and merchant ships, including the U.S. aircraft carrier 'Dwight D. Eisenhower' (MMSI: 368962000), the destroyer USS 'Gravely' (MMSI: 369970634), and several commercial vessels. These incidents occurred in the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean following airstrikes performed by U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) and UK forces on May 30 against various Houthi-controlled locations in Yemen. The aircraft carrier 'Eisenhower' was reportedly struck by an array of missiles and drones. Among the targeted commercial vessels, the 'Abliani' (IMO: 9693068) was in the Red Sea, navigating from Le Havre to Suez at the time of the attack. Additionally, the 'Maina' (IMO: 9699892) faced two assaults, first in the Red Sea and then again in Arabian Sea waters, as it traveled from Ust Luga to Krishnapatnam.
