On January 17, 2023, the tanker 'Ane' commenced unloading a significant cargo of 40,000 tons of Russian diesel at berth 1 of the Wilhelmshavener Raffineriegesellschaft. This timely operation is made possible as the EU's fuel sanctions against Russia will not take effect until early February. The diesel was originally loaded at Vysotsk and is compliant with existing EU regulations, which currently allow for diesel shipments into the European Union. Notably, short-term transactions remain permissible, as confirmed by the Federal Ministry of Economics, enabling firms to stockpile diesel supplies before the sanctions come into effect on February 5. While diesel imports are still allowed, crude oil imports from Russia have already been prohibited.

On September 16, 2019, at 02:50 a.m., the tanker 'Ance' became the target of a piracy incident while anchored approximately five miles SSW of Conakry, located at coordinates 09°25'N 013°44'E. A group of four armed robbers, wielding a gun and knives, boarded the vessel. They forcibly took the duty Able Seaman (AB) hostage, binding his hands and compelling him to guide them to the ship's bridge. Once there, the intruders also held the duty officer captive, exerting pressure on him to lead them to the cabins of the Captain, Chief Engineer, third officer, and bosun. After conducting a thorough search and looting these cabins, the pirates confined the crew to a cabin and made their escape. The crew suffered the loss of personal items, cash, and various ship properties during this brazen attack.

On July 14, 2018, the United States Coast Guard conducted a successful medevac operation approximately 14 miles south of Galveston, Texas, when they were alerted to a medical emergency aboard the tanker 'Ance.' A 48-year-old crew member was experiencing severe chest pains, prompting the vessel's captain to reach out to Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston for immediate assistance. Following the request, Coast Guard watchstanders promptly consulted with the on-duty flight surgeon, who authorized the medevac. In response, an aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Houston deployed an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter to the scene. The aircrew quickly reached the location and safely transported the affected mariner to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Fortunately, the crew member’s condition was reported as stable upon arrival at the medical facility.
