Rescue Operation: Disabled Passenger Ship Safely Towed to Nordstrand

On June 2, 2019, at 5:50 PM, the passenger ship 'Adler V,' carrying 100 charter guests, encountered engine failure while navigating through the Norderhever Fairway, located south of Pellworm Island. As the crew realized the situation was beyond their repair capabilities, the captain promptly contacted the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Bremen for assistance. In response, the lifeboat 'Eiswette' from the DGzRS station in Nordstrand was dispatched and arrived on the scene within 30 minutes. The lifeboat took the stranded vessel in tow and successfully navigated it to the port of Strucklahnungshörn. Although the arrival was delayed by an hour and a half from the original schedule, the passengers were safely disembarked.
