Working Conditions Aboard the Akra-103

On October 6, 2025, the vessel 'Akra 103' faced detention at the Map Ta Phut port in Rayong. This action was executed by officials from the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a preliminary inspection. The assessment uncovered a total of eight reported deficiencies, with three categorized as severe enough to warrant the ship's detention. Following the inspection, on October 8, the 'Akra 103' anchored at position 12° 35' N 101° 12' E before setting course for Futong, where it is expected to arrive by October 14.

On January 8, 2019, the vessel 'Winter Sun' experienced a significant incident at the Ymuiden anchorage, losing its port side anchor along with three shackles. This unfortunate event occurred at coordinates 52° 32.75' N and 004° 16.69' E, likely due to adverse weather conditions characterized by gale-force winds and turbulent seas. Following this incident, the ship, which embarked from Amsterdam on December 19, 2018, remained securely moored in position 52° 31.95' N and 004° 14.48' E as of January 10. Ship operators and maritime authorities are always reminded of the importance of securing equipment in challenging weather conditions.
