Maersk Rosyth Faces Engine Issues Near Rotterdam
On September 5, 2017, the tanker 'Maersk Rosyth' experienced engine troubles while approaching the Maas lock-west, just off the coast of Rotterdam. The vessel had departed from Le Havre on September 1 and was making its way to the Dutch port when the incident occurred. To avert a potential grounding, the tug 'Fairplay 23' was deployed to assist the struggling tanker in navigating the fairway safely. Ultimately, 'Maersk Rosyth' managed to dock at the Europort Caland Canal in Rotterdam, arriving at approximately 6 a.m. Following repairs, the tanker set sail once again on September 12 at around 4 a.m., heading back to Le Havre, and successfully reached its destination by September 13 at about 4 a.m.
