In the early hours of January 29, 2021, a serious incident unfolded aboard the cargo vessel Áland while it was navigating from Antwerp to Amsterdam. The ship was en route when one of its crew members sustained injuries, prompting an urgent response. At approximately 3:35 a.m., the Áland headed for the southern foreport of Hans Weert, where emergency services quickly mobilized.
