The Aligote: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On April 4, 2023, a maritime incident unfolded in the Suez Canal when the vessel 'Aligote', traveling from La Skhirra, collided with the tank m/v 'Lyric Magnolia' (IMO: 9734408). The 'Lyric Magnolia' was at anchor in the Great Bitter Lake, having arrived from Stingsnaes. The collision occurred at approximately 05:15 a.m. while both vessels were part of a southbound convoy. At the time, the 'Aligote' was preparing to depart from its anchored position. The incident was exacerbated by strong winds in the area. Fortunately, both ships sustained only minor damages and remained anchored as of April 5. Following the collision, there was a temporary suspension of canal traffic, but operations resumed shortly thereafter.
