On July 26, 2023, at 04:15 LT, the bulk carrier AMADEUS experienced a grounding incident at the 100 kilometer mark of the Parana River, close to the Campana port. The vessel was en route to San Nicolas port from Recalada, supported by the tugboats 'Madrugador' and 'Vibrador' during its journey up the river. While the local Coast Guard permitted the passage of vessels with a beam of up to 73 meters, the grounding of AMADEUS caused some disruption to traffic in the area, although it was reported that navigation was not completely halted. According to the AIS (Automatic Identification System) tracking data, although not officially confirmed, AMADEUS was able to refloat later that day and subsequently anchored near the site of the grounding.
