Collision Incident in Reydarfjordur Involves 'Amis Hero' and 'Frigg W'
On April 29, 2019, a maritime incident occurred in Reydarfjordur when the bulk carrier 'Amis Hero', arriving from Bunbury, collided with the stern of the cargo vessel 'Frigg W' at approximately 6:40 PM. The allision took place as the 'Frigg W' was in the process of berthing at the quay of the Alcoa Fjardaal Aluminium Plant. The impact caused the bow of the 'Amis Hero' to strike the stationary vessel. Prior to the accident, the 'Frigg W' had departed from Rotterdam on April 25, reaching Reydarfjordur early in the morning on April 29 at 9:00 AM. Following this incident, the 'Amis Hero' resumed its journey from the port on May 8 at 3:30 PM, heading towards Narvik with an estimated time of arrival on May 10.
