Amundsen-Spirit Vessel Reviews and Specifications

On August 10, 2020, the tanker 'Amundsen Spirit' departed from Gdansk following repair work at the Pilsudski Shipyard. However, the vessel was compelled to dock at the outer anchorage on the same day after 13 out of its 32 crew members tested positive for COVID-19 prior to leaving port. One crew member was subsequently hospitalized for treatment, while the remainder of the crew stayed aboard the vessel. Due to its anchorage in international waters, Polish authorities lacked jurisdiction over the situation. As of August 12, the ship continued to be moored at coordinates 54° 27.42' N 018° 41.74' E.
