In a critical move, the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has mandated the return of a contaminated wheat shipment to India after the discovery of the 'Indian Rubella' virus. The vessel 'İnce Akdeniz,' docked at Iskenderun Bay, will be sent back after the virus was identified in samples taken from the wheat cargo. The ship, which had been anchored at Ceyhan since May 28, 2022, underwent rigorous testing by the General Directorate of Food Control. Following the alarming analysis results, Turkish authorities prohibited the cargo's entry, prioritizing public health and agricultural safety.
