On the morning of October 4, 2020, the oil tanker 'Andromeda', carrying a staggering two million barrels of crude oil, faced attempts to disrupt its journey from the Al Dhabba Ash Shihr offshore oil terminal in Mukalla, Yemen, to its destination in China. Unidentified dinghies from the UAE tried to isolate the vessel; however, thanks to the support of an international escort mission, the tanker was granted a secure passage through the Gulf of Aden. With the blockade thwarted, the 'Andromeda' smoothly proceeded on its course towards the Arabian Sea, ensuring the delivery of this critical energy resource.

On November 30, 2018, a small oil spill occurred in the Brazilian waters involving the Norwegian tanker m/v 'Vigdis Knutsen' and the vessel 'Andromeda' during a ship-to-ship oil transfer operation. The oil transferred was owned by Royal Dutch Shell Plc. Approximately 200 millilitres of crude oil were accidentally released due to a brief malfunction in the equipment, causing a drip that lasted about four minutes. The spill incident took place at Brazil's Santos basin in the STS area, shortly after the two ships connected their hoses.
